Finance Policy Officer

Harvey Nash is seeking a Finance Policy Officer to join a large public sector client for an initial 3 month contract based in Edinburgh. There may be the possibility of extension following the initial contract period.

The purpose of the role is to work as part of the clients VAT advisory unit to promote VAT within the business.

The post Finance Policy Officer will also be responsible for the following:

- Dealing with enquiries and providing critical review where required
- Considering contracts and putting forward ideas and solutions
- Working closely with stakeholders and regulators to determine appropriate VAT treatment
- Supporting management in discussions with HMRC as required.

Experience required:

- Experience of working in a similar role
- Membership of a professional body is desirable or equivalent experience
- A thorough working knowledge of VAT
- A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel is desirable

The role will be a full time position working Monday to Friday.
