FINANCE, MIDDLE OFFICE UNIX SHELL SCRIPTING/XML/VBA DEVELOPER:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

-       Database: Sybase 15,MS SQL 2003, MS SQL Query Analyser, Oracle, Oracle P/L SQL Developer/CAST, Competent construction of SQL queries. Any Datamodelling tools or techniques would be of advantage.
-       Development Tools: UNIX Shell Scripting - (Required), Ab Initio/Elementum, batch and continuous based development experience (Can be trained if sufficient UNIX experience), Microsoft Visual Studio
-       Visual Basic, Microsoft Excel VBA (Required), Java. Message Queueing : IBM WebSphere MQ Series, AbInitio queues. Knowledge of standard message formats such as XML - (Required)

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE OF AT LEAST 4 YEARS IN THE FINANCIAL SECTOR.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

My client has launched an ambitious program of work around its Middle Office capabilities. It involves the creation of a number of applications and interfaces, as well as a significant overhaul of others. In this framework, we are looking for a developer whose main responsibilities would be the validation of functional specifications for development of Ab Initio, Elementum, VB, and VBA interfaces, the technical design specifications for interface development, exception handling and failover requirements, the unit testing of the components delivered, the participation in code review with other developers, the support to testing teams during testing cycles, all this in adherence with the development standards & project methodologies.
