Finance Manager - 6 months - Warwick - Negotiable Daily Rate

A leading Energy and Utilities client of Hyphen is looking for a Finance Manager to join their site in Warwick as part of a large scale Finance Project.

Finance Manager - Business Support - Band D

Key purpose:
To provide flexible support to the RtR Financial Controller.
Qualified accountant with a UK recognised body (graduate or equivalent)

Key Accountabilities
Lead a team providing comprehensive support for the business area ensuring appropriate financial control, with particular emphasis on timely, accurate, complete and appropriate business planning, budgeting and forecasting, monthly financial reporting and inputs to the month end accounting process.

The end to end process owner for Record to Report processes in the UK, responsible for managing and developing those processes to maximise the operational efficiency and effectiveness and ensure that process outputs meet all internal and external stakeholder requirements

To build on effective relationships to manage daily operations of service providers, co-ordinate issue resolution, co-ordinate and lead continuous improvement and performance excellence, and lead and manage the impact of change across RtR. Responsible for internal customer account and stakeholder management, and enhancing customer experience, including the management of a flexible resource pool.

Knowledge of National Grid financial systems and business activities, commercial and regulatory environment and general accounting procedure
Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to influence and explain financial issues and results to senior managers
Strong financial & commercial acumen combined with significant post-qualification experience in financial, management and/or project accounting.
Able to demonstrate initiative and sound judgement
Experience of managing and developing teams of professional staff and specialists
Act as a Finance Business Partner with Band C and D business managers, providing financial analysis and evaluation (including building robust budgets and forecasts) on behalf of business managers, business partners and finance teams, and dealing with ad-hoc requests and analysis in order to deliver the business unit's objectives.
Be the lead person responsible for month end accounting inputs and outputs (for example, journals and reports) for the business unit, ensuring completeness, consistency and accuracy of all data, and the accounting entries are appropriately classified in accordance with internal policy (for example, allocated to correct Form of Control).
Compile and produce financial performance reports, including Flash reports, the "blue book" monthly reports, RRP reports and reports for Investor Relations, ensuring reporting is relevant, timely and accurate.
Provide insightful commentaries which adequately explain any variances in the data.
Lead person interfacing with the wider business to establish, maintain and monitor the financial control framework, ensuring adherence to internal and Sarbanes-Oxley key controls.
Provide robust risk management for the business unit(s) by identifying, leading, and coordinating the quantification of risks and opportunities whilst maintaining the finance risk register.
Provide account management for the business unit Financial Controller, ensuring the Finance function delivers a high quality and robust financial service to the business.
