Finance & Commercial Manager - FTC

We are currently recruiting for a Finance & Commercial Manager on Fixed Term Contract to November 2014.

The remit of this role is as follows:

Responsibility for the finance and commercial activities undertaken for the City of Westminster Contract including:

Preparation and review of month end results including variance analysis.

Prepare and submit month end performance packs in line with group requirements

Support Client Director and Service Heads to deliver agreed finance targets including revenue, EBIT, cash and resource utilisation.

Support the business to deliver reliable and accurate monthly forecasts.

Provide expert business decision advice relating to finance, commercial and contractual issues with escalation as appropriate eg to legal counsel.

Support the account to drive cost efficiencies and revenue generation opportunities.

Active balance sheet management to reduce risk and ensure optimum working capital management. Support service heads to deliver Change Controls by being responsible for commercial and contractual elements.

Support Business Development Pipeline and supporting commercial negotiations from a finance perspective (bids and re-bids).

First point of contact for commercial or contractual disputes with customer or supplier.

Support issues to resolution Ongoing client liaison including debt management and ensure open book submission compliance

Lead annual budget process.

Provides support to the business to ensure robust risk management across the account

Building strong working relationships with the operational finance teams.

Preparing detailed timetables to ensure contracts are able to meet reporting deadlines.

Ensuring all external and internal audit matters are addressed.

Responsibility for ensuring statutory accounts are prepared and completed.

Travelling to contract sites as required

Essential skills

You will have the following skills:

Excellent planning, forecasting and accounting skills

Strong report writing skills

Understanding of finance systems (ideally SAP)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualified accountant with several years post qualification and business partnering experience.
