Job Purpose

The Finance Business Partner - Business Operations is responsible for:

- Providing relevant, accurate, timely management information and support to the Senior Finance Business Partner for Business Operations.
- Taking accountability and responsibility for complex decision making and will interact with senior level customers supporting and challenging them as required.
- Using financial expertise to model and formulate divisional cost centre and project advice and support decision making through the month end, forecast, budget and planning cycles.
- Producing relevant reporting and analysis to support partnered divisions decision making as well as monthly and ad hoc analysis

This role reports into the Senior Finance Business Partner for Business Operations

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- MANAGEMENT REPORTING: Analyse, review, report and advise on divisional, cost centre and project revenue and expenses to explain financial movements/trends/drivers to the divisional partners and project managers. Review month-end actual with cost centre managers and reconcilers on a monthly basis. Support on the preparation of Management reports.
- ACCURACY: Liaise with cost centre managers and project managers to reflect accrual accounting for all BAU and project transactions (including managing and reviewing all related balance sheet items) to ensure costs and revenues are correctly reflected in the accounts.
- CONTINUED PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: To provide the divisions with month-end reporting in the format implemented over the last months (for consistency). In addition, continued improvement of detailed reporting provided to cost centre managers and project managers.
- TRAINING: Train users on financial systems to enable Business Partners to understand monthly forecasted/budgeted results. Provide quarterly training sessions to the marketing team to improve their understanding of month-end reporting, reconciliation and forecasting processes.
- PLANNING: Assist/evaluate and challenge Forecasts/Budgets/3 Year Plan to enable the Business Partners to plan business on a short/medium and long term basis. Review rolling forecasts with cost centre reconcilers on a monthly basis.
- AD HOC PROJECTS: Assist, develop, review and advise any form of management information (financial and non financial, including budgeting & forecasting) to assist the Senior Finance Business Partner to evaluate a specific business opportunity/risk.
- STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Support and challenge individuals within the division to which they are partnered to ensure robust strategic decision making with strong financials evidenced. Ensure cost centre managers involve all necessary finance parties in business decisions (ie tax/FSS/treasury/HR) where required.
- COMMERCIAL: challenge the business on their decision making, supported by robust Financial/MI analysis.
- Support preparation of relevant business cases, including providing appropriate challenge.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent with previous experience working in a finance division ideally within a large Matrix organisation.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Substantial experience in a MI related role, incorporating planning and reporting duties
- Experience within a Customer focused commercial environment
- Previous experience with UK reporting essential
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to interrogate data and ask probing questions to determine information
- Multi currency transaction experience
- Excel/Word/PowerPoint (Advanced)
- Hyperion suite of products (Advanced uses)
- Ability to liaise at with multiple stakeholders at all levels
