FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER -required for a contract position in WEST MIDLANDS: THE CUBE. Sopra Steria Recruitment, working in partnership with Major PUBLIC SECTOR clients in UK we are recruiting an Finance Business Partner for a 4 MONTHS INITIAL contract for our Public sector client.

A Finance Business Partner is required to analyze, review and challenge of forecasted and emerging costs, both within month and year to enable assessment of value for money, appropriate risk and forecasting accuracy. Provide specialist advice and guidance on the application of financial principles, policy and procedure, business systems and mechanisms, which promote efficient business reporting

This FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER role will require candidates with a proven Experience and responsible for:

- To ensure that effective business operations and services are delivered to target and standards within an allocated business area To take forward the consistent application of 'best practice' professional frameworks, policies, systems and practices that will improve business performance and develop staff capability.
- To ensure, through collective responsibility with the operational teams, accurate and timely performance reporting against Agency targets as well as robust challenge where appropriate, to enable effective decision making.
- Provide effective leadership and guidance, encouraging the development of capability to improve business delivery, including governance and regulatory requirements, in line with the Agency's values across the region and the supply chain.
- To promote opportunities and solutions to improve performance, capability and capacity and resource allocation and take forward continuous improvement.
- To be a focal point for effective and efficient change management and continuous improvement.

YOU WILL BE EXPERTISE FOR:

Having performed as a business partner or similar type role, ideally in a projects based construction, engineering or manufacturing type environment.

Qualified accountant

- Financially literate, with solid accounting & governance skills gained through an accounting qualification
- Able to produce and review investment cases to the appropriate standard required by Highways England
- Commercially aware, demonstrating an understanding of VfM, able to think laterally and offer alternative solutions to problems and be central to decision making
- Good team player, able to work within teams across departments
- Able to effectively communicate across teams and ensure that the teams have an appropriate level of financial understanding to perform their roles 6. Good influencing & negotiating skills with 3rd parties and Highways England
- Act as a change agent, both in larger projects & continual improvement level also encompassing, culture, environment & processes
- Understanding of project management techniques
- Understanding of lean process and approach Able to communicate in an appropriate manner
- Experience of business planning and budgeting/forecasting over a 3-5 year period
- Displaying a proactive approach
