Finance Business Partner

My public sector client are currently looking for a Finance Business Partner to join their busy team:

Key deliverables to the role will be:

Carrying out sufficient monitoring, analysis and challenge in order to identify financial pressures/headroom and understand key variances within the monthly management accounts of the Directorates. This will be in the form of regular meetings with Directors/Budget Managers.

Carrying out the month end ledger close down which involves quality assuring of directorate transactions and uploading monthly/quarterly realistic forecast information into SAP/BPC within month-end deadlines.

Providing a structured monthly financial report of the Directorate within 10 days of the month-end to Directors and DM Board.

My client is looking for a part qualified accountant although consideration will also be given to those with relevant experience.

The role will require relevant financial management or management accounting and reporting experience which may have been gained in the public or private sector.

Other skills required include:
oBusiness and commercial finance skills;
oAbility to analyse complex and inter-related issues;
oAbility to apply technical and professional skills at a tactical/operational level without losing sight of the wider picture;
oCan apply an understanding of the sound principles of corporate governance;
oAbility to influence and command confidence of Directors and colleagues at all levels;
oBe an effective interface between operational management and the finance community;
oCan apply the principles of risk management and the financial evaluation of risk;
oKnowledge of SAP and use of other common accounting systems and software;
oMS Word and MS Excel at intermediate or advanced level
