CENTRAL GOVERNMENT BASED IN WARRINGTON

CONTRACT WILL RUN TO DECEMBER 2013

Our Central Government client is currently recruiting for several Finance Business Partners to join them on a contract basis, to start ASAP until the end of the year, based in Warrington. The Financial Business Partners are required to support the business through a spending review, seeking to reduce IT cost within the business. This position is accountable to the Senior Finance Business Partner, it would suit a candidate who has experience working on large scale complex projects reducing costs within an IT department. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic security check at the cost of £25.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Challenge and review proposals, plans, performance, budgets and forecasts including Core and Investment funding streams.
Supporting the development of an "intelligent client" working alongside IT, Finance and commercial colleagues.
Supplier Performance management of IT Development suppliers as part of the multi-functional team. Validating supplier development estimates using a variety of estimating techniques.
Ensure that robust financial and commercial controls are adhered to using the clients governance models.
Pro actively manage financial risks, supporting early warning and mitigation of risks.
Production of alternative estimating methodologies to the current external supplier estimates.
Creation of costing models that capture investment and ongoing costs.
Manage key stakeholder relationships with IT, Commercial and Finance Planning and Performance Management.
Represent Finance at IT meetings and reviews as required

Skills/Experience Required:
Detailed knowledge of IT in a large public sector or FTSE100 organisation.
Able to build complex business cases.
Capable of working successfully within a Matrix structure providing excellent support to the customer area whilst maintaining independent financial challenge.
Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills.
Strong spreadsheet skills, experienced in building sophisticated business models

Formal Qualifications Required
CCAB professional qualification (qualified accountant)
