FINANCE ANALYST

We are looking for a FINANCE ANALYST to work within a large FINANCIAL SERVICES company based in EDINBURGH. The role purpose is to provide support, challenge and ensure preparation of financial plans to support business planning and providing financial analysis for possible business cases.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Provide financial support and challenge on current and future business areas (including ledger forensic analysis to ensure accuracy & month end P&L reviews).
- Support the Decision Support Manager coordinate and drive forward the budgeting and forecast process for designated products with a view to understanding key issues and opportunities through analysis of trends and MI available.
- Challenge assumptions through analysis of trends and other MI available.
- Scenario planning/financial analysis - maintain models to assist the business in measuring impact of changes to the budgeted balance sheet and P&L positions.
- Working with DSM and other teams develop commercial insight to enhance robust scenario modelling and accurately prepare/present scenario output (profit and loss and balance sheet where applicable) to aid the decision making process eg pricing and income levels
- Regulatory - assist in stress testing of designated products to determine capital impact
- Act as a point of contact within finance for designated business areas

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

- Part qualified or newly qualified accountant
- Practical experience of financial reporting and management accounting or have financial modelling qualifications.
- Excellent MS Excel skills.
- Financial Services experience.
- Highly numerate
- Strong relationship management skills
