Finance Analyst
Location: Bristol
Contract Duration: 5 Months
Rate: Up to £225 per day

The Finance Analyst is required to support the Programme Finance Manager in the day to day financial analysis and period end reporting activities.This job involves thorough analysis of large amount of data at detail level so attention to details and accuracy is a must.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

* Good Excel and PowerPoint skills including pivot table, lookup and graphs etc;
* Good understanding of finance and business issues, part qualified preferred but not essential;
* Good knowledge of Oracle is desirable but not essential;

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure costs and billings reported against projects are correctly coded and analysed, and work with Commercial and Central Accounting Team to investigate and correct billing errors;
2. Complete volume delivery tracker to capture shortfall with reasons and fault attributions;
3. Prepare and authorise journals;
4. Assist with monthly forecast and variance analysis;
5. Analyse OPEX monthly reporting and provide commentary;
6. Analyse and review Balance Sheet and clear suspense account;
7. Track and validate change control log for both cost and volume;
8. Support the annual business planning process.
9. Provide ad hoc support to the business to so that project reporting is accurate and meaningful to business decision making.
10. Assist in risk identification, allocation and minimisation.
11. Assist in the writing of investment proposals for authorisation.
12. Support external cost reviews.
