FIELD UPGRADES UPGRADE COORDINATOR

INTRODUCTION
JOB MISSION
As an Upgrade Coordinator you will be an ambassador at customer sites across the globe. You will plan and coordinate complex system upgrades and help ensure that the system is returned to the customer on-time. These systems are highly complex, so there will be setbacks. But your can-do, will-do attitude will enable you - together with a team of engineers - to overcome whatever obstacles get in your way. To achieve this you will have several tools. First will be your holistic knowledge of products gained from initial training and enhanced by your on-going working relationships with a broad range of specialists. This generalist knowledge will enable you to identify which area of the machine is preventing progress or needs improving. Next will be your network of specialists that you will build within the community worldwide. Your regular status reports will highlight the people you need and the assistance they can provide. These reports track your performance day-by-day and are the news headlines that are read by all senior managers. This high visibility ensures that your determination and successes are always seen.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Prepare, oversee and manage field upgrades or options into the installed base of new and existing systems. Work with the local and organizations to plan and make all necessary preparations for the flawless execution of the upgrade. Ensure timely availability of the right procedures and recoveries to bring the machine on the best performance level Onsite coordination of the upgrade including the scheduling of manpower, parts, upgrade sequence and tooling. Be able to deal with fast changing circumstances and change plans accordingly on the spot. You have to be flexible in these dynamic environments. As buddy of the onsite team ensure proper follow up of actions in Identify, document and drive improvements in order to reduce upgrade cycle time. Daily reporting of upgrade progress and issues. Last daily update report contains all info on Field Upgrades department KPI's Transferring knowledge concerning the newly upgraded system to enable local engineers to sustain the system by themselves. Create evaluation report including lessons learned.

EDUCATION
MSc graduate in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Computer Science. Or BSc graduate with several years of relevant experience (about 3 to 5 years).

EXPERIENCE
Specialists with experience in a support department for high-tech products. Engineers with hands-on machine experience are preferred.

OTHER INFORMATION
This job will require that you work at customer sites across the globe for approx. 40 to 50% of the year. This includes international travel to Asia, the US and within Europe for uninterrupted periods of up to six weeks (typically 2-3 weeks however), hence it is a chance to see the world. This position may require on call duty depending on location or assignment (so no 8:00-17:00 mentality). A clean driver's license is also required. Important!
