FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN ABILENE, TX CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

The candidate will perform standard tasks including user account maintenance, server patching, and software installation of both standard applications and proprietary software. Server replacement, or server racking/stacking, may also be required based on customer-ordered change and upgrade projects as such, access to a vehicle and a valid drivers license is required.

OVERVIEW

- Provides first-level technical support for industrial (SCADA) control systems in a mixed Windows Server 2003/2008 environment.
- Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.
- Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems.
- Supports and maintains user account information including rights, and systems groups.
- Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed.
- Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Primary job functions do not typically require exercising judgment.

REQUIREMENTS

- Entry level- 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, 2000/XP Embedded
- Understanding LAN/WAN topologies, TCP/IP
- SQL Server 2005 and higher
- Server hardware: troubleshooting and assembly, HP Proliant, iLO, BIOS/Firmware, SNMP services
- Time management skills must be self-motivated and able to multitask
- Associate's degree or equivalent
