Overview

The Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) team is seeking Field Safety Coordinators. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the work of the EH&S Mid-Continent Business Unit (MCBU) in delivering proactive Health and Safety solutions to support EH&S efforts and initiatives for the Completions function. This position will appeal to a candidate who enjoys a field-based assignment, working with both Encana and contractor personnel, working on new and varied projects, and charting new territory in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

* Implement and champion EH&S practices and initiatives throughout your area of responsibility.
* Act as an advocate for Ethos (Company's EH&S Management System) implementation.
* Serve as a key resource for the Completions Team as a leader and mentor, and coordinate with Production and Construction and Drilling Field Safety Coordinators. Investigate incidents and utilize the TapRoot investigation methodology to determine the root cause, implementing corrective actions to prevent a re-occurrence. Promote the lesson's learned from incidents and near hits and hazard ids to prevent a reoccurrence.
* Ensure job safety analysis (JSAs) are completed accurately, thoroughly and reviewed for each job task before work begins.
* Actively participate in monthly safety meetings for Company personnel, providing meaningful and relevant performance data and content.
* Facilitate risk assessments.
* Ensure entry of Hazard IDs, incidents, (injuries, accidents and spills) into the Incident Management System (IMS). Follow up with Completions staff to effect completion of action items.
* Steward the MCBU EH&S Scorecard and statistical reports to improve upon the overall EH&S performance within the Completions Team.
* Conduct regular, documented safety inspections.
* Perform emergency response to Company incidents 24/ 7 when on-call, in all weather conditions.
* Assist the Environmental Team with first response of spills and releases and determining the cause.
* Manage and/ or support other projects from time to time as directed by the Group Lead, assisting with the identification, evaluation, development of key safety programs.

Qualifications

* Accreditation in a safety program or working towards safety certification. A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) is preferred.
* 5+ years previous experience within EH&S; oil and gas completions experience preferred
* Working knowledge of Federal, State & local safety regulations specifically in the states ofLouisiana,Texas,Mississippi,KansasandOklahoma
* Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks; must be very detailed oriented
* Demonstrated ability to work independently
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated proficiency building and maintaining positive professional relationships
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Ability to satisfy Department of Justice requirements with or with out assistance from Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
