Nødnett CR Field Engineer

Location: Oslo, Norway

RESPONSIBLE TO: CR Rollout Engineering Manager

Main Purpose Of Job:

Responsible for Dimetra IP Control Room software upgrade implementation and verification testing in accordance with design documentation and the program plan.

Reporting Structure

The field integration engineers report on a solid line basis to the CR Rollout Engineering Manager

and on a dotted line basis to their regional Engineering Manager.

Field Engineer within the Nødnett CR integration team.

KEY ELEMENTS

Field Engineering - CR integration

Tasks include:

-

SW upgrade implementation and verification testing with the Agencies as per defined test scope.
-

Document work as per defined test and report scope.
-

Field system support and troubleshooting during integration.
-

Timely issue resolution and documentation of issues arising during installation.
-

Compliance with project processes and project plan.
-

Regular reporting and close coordination with the Engineering Manager.
-

Investigation and resolution or hand-off of all service complaints.

Willing to travel or attend site as implementation plans require.

Self management of assigned tasks to meet required schedule

Self management of time recording using the Project Accounting System

Extent of Contacts - Internal and External

- Close contact with customer CR team
- Close contact with all areas within project Systems Engineering
- Liaison with Project Management, with Operations and Rollout as required

Decision Authority and Responsibility

- Technically responsible for the CR integration and commissioning in accordance with system documentation.
- Technically responsible for performing and reporting of Acceptance Testing in accordance with defined test scope as well as per defined report process.

6 Pre-requisites

- Experience in electrical/electronic engineering.
- Thorough knowledge of the Network Management system used within the Dimetra IP Network.
- Thorough knowledge of the overall Dimetra IP technology and the configuration and interaction of the equipment within the switch site and its interaction with other switch sites, RF sites and control rooms.
- This individual must have working experience with electronics, especially networking.
- Clear communication skills to provide accurate reporting information and assistance to the customer support teams
- In depth experience in Control Rooms deployment and installation, Command and Control Systems, Local and Wide Area Networks, Networking Protocols.
