Field-Based Deployment Engineer

We currently have a requirement for a Field-Based Deployment Engineer to undertake a short-term contract, lasting three months in duration (with the possibility of extension)

You will be required to travel to various sites in the North of England to aid with deployment and provide professional desk-side support. As such, it is vitally important that you possess your own transport. Please note that travelling expenses such as mileage and parking will be reimbursed accordingly along with any remote working costs you accrue.

We are looking to for professional contractors who possess at least three years working experience within a deployment role and can make themselves available for a face to face interview at our clients offices in London at short notice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Installing new hardware, including desktops, laptops, monitors' and docking stations, at specified locations.
- Performing Pre-Deployment checks with the users and identifying any potential issues relating to the roll-out project.
- Re-configuring the user's profile and settings to new deployed machine.
- Providing fault analysis to various core operating systems, platforms and applications, as well as being able to provide support and apply desktop fault resolution for the approved application suite
- Diagnose hardware faults and provide both remote assistance and desk side support to various business areas within the support remit
- Provide expertise in all aspects of IT desktop fault function and deployment of all new kit and peripherals under the Installs, Moves and changes environment

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Previous roll-out experience in a large scale deployment project.
- Outstanding customer service, presentation, organisational & communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of Windows XP & Windows 7 operating systems.
- Active Directory/QARS user account administration experience
- Experience providing remote fault analysis, via verbal communication and IT remote control tools.
- Experience of supporting VPN and remote connection tools, in relation to Broadband and 3G technologies.
- Proficient in Blackberry usage & support.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 & 2010.
- Previous banking experience desirable but not essential.
