Field Analytics Platform Lead

The Crop Analytics & Automation Program is looking for an out of the box thinker and visionary leader to lead a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Biologists in delivering innovative solutions towards in field data collection through the deployment of analytical and detection tools. The successful candidate will report to the program director and will strategically drive a cross organizational effort towards understanding and prioritizing the need for in field data collection driving decisions, eliminating costs and increasing the quality of our product development processes. The incumbent must have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, high proficiencies in project and organizational management, an appetite for innovation and process improvement, and a strong commitment to achieving results.

Major Responsibilities:

- - Lead a team of 10-12 engineers and biologists with 2-3 direct reports
- - Manage and coordinate the functional support of the group towards the application of imaging, detection and molecular technologies across the program needs
- - Interact and collaborate with the Technology, Commercial, Manufacturing and Vegetable organizations to develop and support a strategy towards relevant in field data collection and technology development towards that
- - Develop a strategic plan towards the deployment of these technologies meeting the long term needs of the organization
- - Own and drive development projects for the discovery and application of field deployable applications
- - Ensure technology and prospecting advancements in the areas of imaging and detection technologies and identify and support areas of research in those areas
- - Identify and ensure collaborations with internal and external parties towards the development and application of relevant technologies
