Fidessa Developer (WITH JAVA) (Contract)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Fidessa is used as the cash equity trading platform within The bank. This role will involve taking an active part in the upgrade of Fidessa and migration to Linux Servers.

In addition to the migration of the TOP, CTAC and FDA components, this project will also involve the implementation of the new FIX portal. The role will also involve interaction with other areas of the business for testing purposes, and may involve re-implementation of trade feeds (likely in Java).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Help with migration of Fidessa to Linux platform for TOP, CTAC, FDA and FIX
- Merge new version changes with existing customisations
- Help re-test all the customisations in post-upgrade environment
- Revisit any site-specific processes which will no longer run under x86 or Linux architecture by either moving to existing Fidessa functionality or rewriting them in Java

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Good knowledge of Fidessa Modules TOP/CTAC/FDA/FIX+
- Experience of Fidessa upgrades
- Experience in Java programming
- Linux experience
- Good knowledge of FIX
- Good knowledge of Cash Equities Products
- Sybase/SQL, Tcl, Unix/Linux Scripting
