Family Support Worker - Under 5's

Eden Brown are currently recruiting for a Family Support worker for a well known client in West London / Shepherds Bush area on a long term maternity cover.

Purpose:
In partnership with parents, carers, local agencies, community groups and other professionals to develop, promote and deliver a range of high quality services for children 0-5 and expectant families in the Children's Centre area.

1.To promote the services of Old Oak Community and Children's Centre.

2.To contact all families to promote the services available in the children's centre area including early years provision, health, family support and learning, and employment related services.

3.To develop a range of services for children and families in the local community, by responding to local needs. And to encourage their involvement and engagement in all aspects of the children's centre in response to local
consultation.

4.To promote Children's Centre activities while working one-to-one and in groups, and by also attending meetings and groups by outside agencies, promoting the centre's services.

Person Specification

1.Experience of working with children and families would be an advantage.

2.Understanding of child development.

3.Knowledge of the importance of play and the developmental needs of children from birth to five years

4.Understanding of the needs of children and their families including those with disabilities

5.Experience of developing positive working relationships with a range of service users.

6.Ability to work, empathise and communicate effectively with all sections of the community.
