Facility Management Specialist (Data Center)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Role is responsible for the verification of compliance with hardware specification requirements, installation policies and best practices, inventory and administrative tracking tool use and other policies and procedures required to occupy space in IBM managed data centers. Role provides on the ground inspection for all IT layer installations within the IBM SO raised floor environment and participates in Quality assurance program to ensure all IT devices housed in the IBM SO managed data center space are properly installed to tie into the redundant infrastructure and properly documented in the inventory management system.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must be experienced and have specialized knowledge in some or all activities: installing (racking/stacking/cabling), troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and/or configuring relevant technologies/devices within scope. In depth working knowledge in at least one or more of the following areas: hardware, server, network, operating system. Minimum project management skills and aptitude using spreadsheets, and experience with PANELS PLUS OR OTHER AUTO CAD TOOL IS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT. Must be a quick learner, adaptable and flexible to the work environment and possess excellent teaming skills.
