Overall Purpose of Job
*Provide leadership and management of the FM areas of responsibility to ensure an efficient and co-ordinated service to meet the full requirements of the Academy.
*To undertake the full responsibility of a Facilities Manager at ensuring all legislative requirements and policies are fully implemented.
*To act as Health and Safety officer for the Academy ensuring compliance with regulations, legislation and best practice are met.
Job Context
*The post holder reports to the Bursar (Director of Business & Finance)
*The post holder has line management responsibility for: Site Premises Team, Catering Team and ICT Team including Reprographics (AVA).
Key Tasks and Accountabilities
3.To lead and manage the FM areas of responsibility
4.To be the principal point of contact for contractual issues with regard to premises related contracts.
5.Project management of the whole school move process ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
8.To operate and develop the FM procedures and systems in co‐operation with the Bursar and the Headteacher, ensuring that all legal and safety requirements relating to people and property are met.
9.To monitor and oversee the quality of work by contractors and facilities staff, reporting to governors as appropriate.
*A Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Engineering/Building/Facilities Management
*Experience of managing contractors, professional staff and/or a workforce in at least one of the service areas

*A Diploma in Management Studies or equivalent management qualification eg BIFM level 5
*Membership of a relevant Professional Institution eg ICE, CIOB or ILAM
*NEBOSH qualification

Knowledge and Experience
*Five years post qualification management experience
*Able to demonstrate that they have experience and ability to deliver complex projects *Experience of dealing with and monitoring contractors and/or workforce
*Detailed knowledge and successful track record in building management
*Successful evidence of leading collaborative activities with other areas of an organisation
*Successful evidence of taking an effective leadership role on a range of issues, using methods including challenge, support, persuasion and participation
*Up to date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
