External Reporting Manager,Statutory Reporting (FC)

 Allegis Group Services are the onsite recruitment partner at RBS and manage all contract and temporary opportunities for RBS M&IB (Markets and International Banking).

This wide ranging and challenging opportunity includes the following specific responsibilities:

- Performing high quality review, challenge and analysis of the balance sheet for M&IB businesses across legal entities.
- Performing the commercial review, challenge and analytics on a divisional basis for all M&IB reporting and supplementary disclosures
- Co-ordination and delivery of divisional Balance Sheet Supplementary Disclosure packs for senior management review.
- Supporting RBSG statutory reporting as required, including the management and control of M
- Performing high level quality review, challenge and analysis of the legal entity accounts and supplementary information.
- Ensuring new (including ad hoc) reporting requirements impacting M&IB are understood, controlled and delivered
- Manage M&IB Statutory reporting relationship with GCA (including coordination and presentation of the quarterly divisional CFO pack & coordination, control and delivery of any applicable GCA ad hoc reporting requests)
- Contribute towards continued development of an effective financial control environment for M
- Tracking, reporting and escalation of the status of Financial Reporting returns for all M
- Co-ordinate and respond to ad-hoc Financial Reporting requests for our key regulators via GCA.
- Continuing to develop and evolve as necessary, the delivery of the IFRS reporting requirements across MIB; including provide support and engagement on FinRep mandatory reporting delivery.
- Regular and ad-hoc analysis of aspects of the business, both tactical and strategic;
- Stakeholder management, supporting effective delivery of the FSCP and KPI reporting on performance.
- Contribute to the co-ordination and management of both individual and team development
- Running small/medium sized deep dives on topical or key issues as highlighted through reporting periods or through GCA engagement.

Other role responsibilities include:

- Provide support and resolution to data remediation.
- Provide finance expertise on banking products (including derivatives) for disclosure purposes.
- Ensure appropriate timeliness, accuracy and quality of all outputs.
- Ensure processes and procedures adhere to the appropriate policies and control environment (inc SOX) governance.

ESSENTIAL:

- Statutory Accounting/Financial Control from Banking/similar Financial Services.
- Strong Balance sheet experience.
- IFRS and SOX
- Sound analytical and mathematical skills, with financial controls knowledge and experience
- Qualified Accountant (any institute) or qualified by related experience with strong record of application within a business environment

Experience of acting creatively and practically in approach to solving problems and providing reliable deliveries
