External Affairs Manager

Stanton House is pleased to be supporting one of our key clients as they look to appoint an experienced Corporate Affairs Director to create and deliver external engagement and management of issues protecting their reputation of their Great Britain and Ireland business. This individual will also be responsible for constructing advocacy with key stakeholders across media, trade and public policy audiences to support business objectives.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Supporting the Leadership Team with the management of the business' corporate reputation by providing communications and counsel support
- Creating and delivering a corporate external communications strategy which supports the business in delivering its commercial objectives
- Providing strategic guidance around earned media objectives, key messages, tactics and return on investment working with the Brand Marketing Directors which will support the delivery of brand marketing plans through best-in-class brand communications
- Aligning UK issues and reputational matters with other markets working with the International Marketing Director and Global Leadership Team
- Managing issues to proactively plan for potential issues in order to protect the reputation of the business
- Managing a trade PR agency to ensure business units continue to maximise their share of voice within the trade media around brand launches and category leadership

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL NEED:

- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a senior communications role, covering corporate, trade, consumer PR and public affairs, preferably within a customer-facing or FMCG environment
- Extensive Media and stakeholder engagement experience within the private sector
- Agency management and trade association engagement experience
- The ability to create and deliver end to end communications, from strategy to implementation
