Exploration Geologist

Executes moderately complex Angola-related projects as a highly productive team member. Will lead wellsite maturation projects and play integral role in well operations support. A qualified, fully competent professional that requires limited supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Participates in sub-regional context setting and evaluation
* Identifies and ranks exploration prospects
* Leads the well planning process to optimize well locations using a variety of geological and geophysical data
* Identifies, defines, and recommends incremental opportunities (e.g., sidetracks, wildcat wells)
* Integrates geological work with geophysical and reservoir engineering analysis to provide unified interpretations
* Liaises with partners and other parts of the organization
* Provides input into the generation of initial appraisal plans for future developments
* Evaluates well data and integrates data into regional and sub-regional interpretation
* Provides geological support for well planning and operations in close cooperation with drilling team
* Assists in mentoring junior level geologists
* May lead projects involving supervision of junior employees
* Required: M.S. Geology; 7 years relevant experience
* Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D. Geology; 10 years relevant experience
* Must be authorized to work in the US
