Experimental Environment Support Engineer

Background
Capita is currently recruiting for an Experimental Environment Support Engineer, for a 12 month contract, for our Central Government client based in Wiltshire. Due to the urgent nature of this role, it is highly desirable that you hold a minimum of SC clearance.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to provide underpinning expertise and domain knowledge to support the provision of representative military C4ISTAR applications and systems (eg AMN/OVERTASK, JC2SP, BOWMAN) to IS experimentation users. Aside from providing day-to-day system administration, the successful candidate holder will work with the client and military SMEs to further the design and exploitation of application hosting environments and associated networks, and act as Technical Lead to experimentation teams, offering advice on technology options and solutions available.

Skills/Experience Required
* Excellent knowledge and experience in the design, set-up, operation and use of IS hosting environments and secure local area networks. Domain administration of Windows environments (Server 2k8, 2k3). VMware ESXi5 Enterprise Management, HP SAN Management, HP Bladeserver management. Cisco networking and basic Cisco and HP Switch configuration. Understanding of military C4ISTAR systems and application sets. Understanding and experience of operations in a secure environment and the regulatory and security approvals frameworks around secure systems.. Experience in delivering IS trials under tight time constraints.
