THE POSITION

Our client is currently looking to expand their current business and are looking for experienced Telecommunications Surveyors and Auditors to join in their team. At the moment this may only be a short-term engagement on a casual basis but if the work grows and they find good candidates they could move to more permanent positions. The roles by nature are field based and could involve travel throughout the state or interstate as work requires.

This role will require a candidate who has in-depth knowledge of mobile radio networks and equipment and has experience of field works, site build and technical installation.

A current driving license and the ability to travel to sites for early starts will be required. The use of own vehicle may also be required as you will be working in the field.

Attention to detail is critical for this works and you must be able to accurately document findings onsite, take photos and relay findings back to the main office. You will need to be able to read and understand technical build drawings, designs and concepts and understand telecoms build/design standards.

Schedules could include multiple site visits in anyone day or working away from local base. There may also be some weekend work so you should have flexibility to working them if required. Time management skills, strong OH&S awareness and ability to work independently are required.

The hourly rate will be negotiated on experience, qualifications, skills and attributes.

ESSENTIAL AUSTRALIAN EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Hands on installation and understanding of maintenance and upgrade of base station equipment across 2G/3G/LTE technologies

Site build or rigging experience is advantageous

Microwave installation

Eltek installation and commissioning

Knowledge of shelters, fitouts, rooftop installation and environmental controls

Operator inductions - Optus - VHA - Telstra

DESIRABLE

Current First Aid certificate

Open Cabling License - fibre and copper installation, test and fault finding

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

Self motivated and have good time management skills

Can-do attitude, initiative and excellent communication skills
