Experienced Core Java Application Software Engineer (video management systems)
For one of our major customers in the Ghent area of Belgium we are looking for an experienced core Java engineer to work on a video network management system (for service monitoring and management of video transmission systems of broadcasters, IP video or cable operators). So, from the programming side, you must be proficient in Java, as well as in related technologies used in the system (Spring, Hibernate, OSGI, relational databases, Java GUI, Eclipse, UML modelling). From the application side, it is all about IP-based networks for complex (digital) video handling. You are familiar with the whole software development chain from analysis all the way to testing and support in an agile development (SCRUM) environment with solid source code control and build/test automation tools.
You are an excellent team player and communicator (at least in English; Dutch can be useful too), flexible, eager to learn, and capable of technically guiding other developers thanks to your seniority and experience.
This is a long-term assignment of at least 6 months in a very professional high-tech R&D environment.
