European Business Development Manager - Home/Field Based - Up to £80K

We are working with a market leading out-sourcing company who specialise in providing services into the Pharmaceutical, Medical and Healthcare sector. After recent they are now looking for a new European BD Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

* Produce quarterly sales plan including research, mailing, telephone and face-to-face contact, that will achieve targeted sales performance and targets
* Personally sell to key prospects and accounts to achieve agreed sales targets
* Work with the functional Operations Managers to effectively price to win, commercially profitable new projects of work and maximise work within existing clients
* Effectively Project Manage the business development process within the business units to ensure all sales targets are met and exceeded
* Project Manage the development of all RFI, RFP and bid defence opportunities for the organisation
* Work with central Marketing support and external telesales provider to gain access to new accounts and new users within existing accounts
* Develop a library of corporate information for the creation of proposals and tender documentation
* Work with central Marketing to ensure the Sales and Marketing strategy is aligned and meets corporate objectives
* Ensure all client and prospect activity records are completed on time and forward planned to ensure that no business opportunity is missed. Territory plan effectively.
* Develop in-depth competitor awareness to effectively to lock out the competition
* Develop strategic partnership alliances for the business
* Liaise with Credit Control over credit worthiness and debt collection as part of new business development process

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

* Graduate (or equivalent) in Life Science
* Successful track record of selling CRO services into Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Medical Device Industries
* Well networked within Clinical Research
* Good team player with ability to build relationships and trust with colleagues throughout the Company and Clients at all levels.
* Advanced skills with MS Power-point, Word and Excel
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with good listening skills
* Wide business acumen with sound business ethics and integrity
* Ability to provide a strategic sales, business and financial business plan

* Able to influence and negotiate both internally and externally
* Strong at networking within a market
* Proven ability in telemarketing as part of the sales process
