ETL Technical Lead

Our client is one of the world's leading financial services with an open position for an ETL TECHNICAL LEAD. The focus of this position is on Data warehousing. Must have BI implementation experience and OBIEE experience.

This role includes assigning tasks to the team, resource planning, interaction with business contacts and enforcing best practices and company standards. This position requires an advanced level of customer support, technical skills to debug complex issues, and the ability to manage and perform data analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee the successful completion of second and third level service desk incidents, operational tasks, system configuration and setup and security administration for the Corporate Analytics (CA) OBIEE platforms.
- Direct the team of support specialists responsible for troubleshooting and resolving second and third level application problems and all issues/questions related to setup, security, configuration or performance of the application.
- Manage system configuration changes or enhancements, giving primary consideration to the feasibility, maintainability, internal customer needs and overall cost/benefit and quality requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with department procedures, methodologies, service level agreements and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
- Ensure that all application support issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency.
- Continually review and evaluate incoming service desk incident trends, implement improvements and/or coordinate with other teams to make software updates, training updates or business process changes.
- Provide technical leadership, training and mentoring to the analytics support team.
- Coordinate the transition of custom functionality from development to support.
- Manage the training, documentation and transition of knowledge to the outsourced first level service desk of InfoSys.
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance of a centralized knowledgebase of support documentation and configuration.
- Ability to develop, establish and maintain effective working relationships/partnerships with customers by responding to needs and exhibiting a sense of urgency.
- Collaborate with management and staff to ensure cross-functional issues, tasks or projects are coordinated and completed within a timely manner.
- Collaborate with help desk management, application support teams, business analysts, business owners and 3rd-party vendors to ensure application documentation and operational procedures exist for the OBIEE portfolio.
- Ensure effective communication within the team as well as communication with internal customers, management and other personnel.
- Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate to the end-user community and discuss solutions in a non-technical manner.
- Oversee the completion of team's project tasks per the project plan.
- Devise team back-up structure to ensure critical applications have adequate support coverage.
- Manage and complete all assigned special projects and tasks.
- Evaluate business requirements for utilization of system configuration or roll-out of new standard functionality.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and identify application bugs using various debug methods.
- Assemble complex ad hoc queries for data analysis, troubleshooting or data conversion purposes.
- Manage and schedule the periodic updates or application patches to ensure applications are remaining current with the vendor's specifications.
- Coordinate with the vendor on technical issues and new functionality requests.
- Learn new technologies (Tableau) to support 3rd party applications as they become part of the analytics portfolio.
- Oversee the standardization and development of recommended security roles and menus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree (required), Master's Degree (preferred)
- 6 years BI implementation experience required, 9 years preferred
- 6+ years' experience in ETL environments
- 2 years OBIEE experience
- Basic knowledge of Client Server applications
- Familiarity with Help Desk systems and procedures
- Experience with SARBOX controls and audit procedures
- Ability to independently solve complex problems, assist the team with troubleshooting issues and bugs
- Strong analytical skills; ability to collect, organize and analyze data, summarize findings, and develop conclusions and recommendations
- Ability to use SQL query tools to research data issues
- Self-starter who takes initiative and is proactive
- Ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks
- Technically inclined to learn other technologies to meet the needs of assignments
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, including management and end users
- Excellent presentation skills
- Must sit in Foster City

Duration of assignment is expected to be 12 months with possible extension.
