ETL Developer - Multiple Roles - March 2014 Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced ETL Developers within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Take leading role in Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) development work;
- Provide advice and review complicated SQL code;
- Driving of and participation in analysis and design, as well as contributing to and authoring High Level Design documents and specifications;
- Transform the application of business and technical rules and storage of data on a Teradata storage environment;
- Delivery of data into data marts for Management Information purposes;
- Mentor other staff members;
- Provide advice to management on system issues;
- Transfer relevant knowledge gained in all avenues of Datawarehouse Systems Administration to permanent members of the team in a timely manner and on a regular basis; and
- Work with product designers, technical leads and architects within the Branch and provide input to architectural and design documentation.

SKILLS:

- Demonstrated experience in developing complicated SQL in a large scale Datawarehouse environment and/or Demonstrated experience as an ETL developer, particularly using DataStage;
- Proven ETL development experience in a large scale data warehousing environment;
- Strong SQL background;
- Proven knowledge of data warehousing environments, principles and methodologies;
- Proven experience in metadata management; and
- High level documentation skills.
