ESX Engineer - VMware, VSphere, EMC - Erskine,Scotland

Square One are looking for a ESX/VMware Engineer to com on board for an 11 month contract based in Erskine, Scotland.

- Maintaining a stable environment for the technical platform
- Providing capacity for the technical platforms supported
- Daily monitoring of the local platform and infrastructure
- Highlighting issues and escalations as needed
- Raising service requests, and dealing with vendor 4th line support
- Reporting on capacity and usage in an accurate and timely fashion
- Following local process of managing incidents and work requests via the appropriate systems and procedures.
- Implementing designs and configuration changes as requested by the programme work-streams.
- Performing routine maintenance and housekeeping functions.
- Scheduling and performing upgrades and enhancements as needed.
- Update and maintain any topology and/or configuration documentation as appropriate
- Comply with Asset Management and Procurement procedures as appropriate
- Support of the Backup and Recovery teams objectives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Have experience supporting large ESX service operation
- VMware & VSphere
- VERITAS Clustering
- Experience working with EMC storage devices
- Cisco MDS Fabric Enterprise Directors and Switches
- Production of technical documentation
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving Skills equivalent to 2nd and 3rd line

This is an initial 11 month contract based in Erskine, Scotland paying market rates looking to start at the beginning on January.
