Estimator (Rail)

OUR KEY RAIL CLIENT URGENTLY REQUIRE AN ESTIMATOR TO JOIN THEIR TEAM IN EITHER LONDON ST PANCRAS OR THEIR OFFICE NEAR GRAVESEND, KENT ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR 3 MONTHS INITIALLY.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Preparation of estimates for works. Input cost/quantity information into estimating systems and produce reports.
- Evaluate and measure the works within the contracted scope; undertake periodic valuations of works in progress as required.
- Input data related to contracts into the company's project management reporting system.
- Assist in preparation of tender, pricing and contract documentation. Carry out cost analysis of accepted tenders.
- Prepare certificates for payment as required. Manage contractor's day-to-day commercial issues.
- Prepare final accounts, including validation of contractor submissions by measurement and quantification.
- Co-ordinate and apply effective controls to orders for call-off labour to prevent agreed cost targets being exceeded.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The successful candidate will be a solid PROJECT ESTIMATOR/NUMBER CRUNCHER. Our client are NOT looking for a commercial manager as they already have a number of astute managers in the team.

- Qualified to basic standard in ESTIMATING OR QUANTITY SURVEYING.
- Relevant successful experience of provision of estimating and/or QS services.
- Understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes.
- Working knowledge of use of cost planning techniques for the financial control of projects during design development stages.
- Experience in the RAIL AND/OR CIVIL ENGINEERING industries.
