Estimating Engineer

An excellent and urgent opportunity has arisen to work for a market leading automotiion/body welding systems manufacturer. We urgently seek a skilled Estimating Engineer with experience in other the BIW (Body Welding), PWT, Aerospace and diverse market manufacturing methods and processes. Based out of a Coventry location you will have the following responsibilities: - To fully assess and understand customer requirements and specification, clarifying and resolving any areas of concern - To develop comprehensive and factual cost and resource analysis - To effectively liaise with other departments so as to establish specific proposal costs (e.g. Supply Chain). - To effectively liaise with outside suppliers for pricing data - To effectively liaise with customers to establish requirements - To prepare accurate and complete proposal costs from prepared process/layouts and internal Estimating System (NEST) as well as external pricing. - To recommend on lower cost options - To deliver lowest cost assembly tooling and automation proposals - To effectively report to senior management on final estimate - To create accurate and complete cost packages - To develop and accurately update NEST database with latest costs - To deliver all outputs within specified timescales. - To liaise with the Engineering Controls department to ensure latest methods and customer specifications are understood. - To liaise with the Group Controls Estimating and Proposals teams so as to understand Group strategies and opportunities - To promptly advise Proposals and Process Engineers of improvements to the technical cost reduction solution. Basis Salary - £35k - £40k + BUPA + Pension
