Estates Surveyor

We are looking for a ESTATES SURVEYOR for our public sector client.

JOB TITLE: ESTATES SURVEYOR

LOCATION: WORCESTER

CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 MONTHS INITIALLY WITH POSSIBLE EXTENSION

JOB PURPOSE:

To be responsible for and undertake valuation and estate management duties and assist in the implementation and development of the Forces' Assets Management Plan and Estates Strategy. To implement the Estate rationalisation plan and manage the Forces extensive and diverse Estate and associated legal interests in accordance with the Service Definition Template.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To undertake estate asset valuations in excess of £70 million and produce reports as required.

2. To carry out negotiations, influence other parties and determine rent reviews, lease renewals, joint venture agreements, acquisitions, disposals, lease and licence agreements and any other such legal interests on behalf of the forces.

3. To develop and manage the Estate's Database/Asset Register and undertake data analysis and report as required.

4. To be responsible for tendering/instructing both solicitors and consultants to provide legal and professional estate advice.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE:

Degree/Level 6 qualification in Land Management, Valuation & Estate Management, or a similar discipline giving part exemption from the RICS qualification.

Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) ie Chartered Surveyor

EXPERIENCE:

Extensive estate management experience and a comprehensive knowledge of property law and associated legislation eg town planning

Proven experience of both negotiating with and instructing professional advisors and solicitors.

The preparation of business cases and appraisals.

Experience of property inspection and measurement and familiarity with the RICS code of measuring practice.

Experience and a detailed knowledge of valuations for a wide range of purposes including asset and insurance valuations, rental valuations and valuations for acquisition and disposals.
