Ertms Rolling Stock Specialist

BACKGROUND

ERTMS National Implementation Onboard Project (ENIO) is a subproject of National ERTMS project in Norway whose purpose is to lead and coordinate the planning, strategy and implementation of work related to ERTMS rolling stock (train/vehicle). ENIO shall, on behalf of the various railway undertakings (owners of rolling stock) establish an agreement with a supplier for the delivery and support of ERTMS onboard equipment. This work includes developing specifications, conducting competitive bidding and follow up of the selected vendor's system development and deployment, in close cooperation with the relevant railway undertakings that choose to take part in this joint procurement.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

Subproject Onboard needs an engineer/engineer within fields of rolling stock for assistance in connection with the preparation of inquiry and evaluation of tenders. This person will work within existing vehicle technical environment in the project and in particular with the project's installation responsible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the group's tasks related to:

- management of vehicle descriptions from train operators and vehicle owners
- managing the installation requirements related to train types
- technical dialogue with train operators and vehicle owners in connection with the installation of ERTMS onboard equipment
- technical expertise to train operators and vehicle owners
- evaluation of suppliers of ERTMS on-board equipment
- monitoring of laws, regulations and requirements of the management system related to rolling stock

EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE:

- Technical expertise in rolling stock
- University or college degree in relevant field. Particularly relevant experience can compensate lack of formal education
- Expertise in ERTMS and possibly other technical subsystems of rolling stock
- Experience in planning and implementation of projects related to rolling stock

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Good general IT skills, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
- Good oral and written communication skills in Norwegian (Scandinavian) and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Contact network in the technical communities of owners of rolling stock in Norway
- Knowledge of national requirements for rolling stock (technical regulations)
- Knowledge of permit processes for rolling stock
- Knowledge of and application of the CSM, European RAMS standards and TSI for railway/rolling stock

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

- Startup 1.1.2016. with a duration of the contract until end of 2016. Contract can be extended for 6 + 6 months.
- 100% position. Lower percentage of employment may be considered for especially qualified applicants
