Projektbeschreibung
Subject matter expert (SME) in all Engineering aspects relating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation/upgrade. Providing and leveraging specific knowledge of the engineering information requirements for ERP as provided from Product Data Management Systems (PDM), delivering all tasks assigned to him/her, supporting the team's Business Lead in planning, monitoring and reporting on progress, risks and issues and in ensuring effective, two way communications between business, project and IT stakeholders.
Specifically:
Overall:
o Be the Engineering lead for the upgrade of the BAE Systems Maritime Naval Ships ERP tool from Aveva Mars to Aveva ERM
Solution Design:
o Identify, agree and sign off common processes and requirements from an Engineering Information perspective.
o Ensure the Engineering information configuration aligns with the needs of the ERM stakeholders, especially Planning and Supply chain
o Ensure that requirements for changes to engineering information in the ERM system can be adequately managed through the interface with the PDM system
o Develop UAT scripts and data and perform and report back on UAT.
o Raise changes, support impact analyses and advise the Business Lead on change requests.
Business Change:
o Champion the project both with the ERM and the Engineering communities
o Provide 2 way communication between the Engineering community and the ERM Programme
o Identify differences between the common processes and current working practice
o Design and manage interventions to effect the change to the common processes.
o Identify and develop mitigations for risks to implementation.
o Train users and/or Trainers.
o Manage and/or participate in pilot runs.
o Accept the solution for live running.
o Provide first line help during (at least) the handover and initial live running periods.
o Participate in an ongoing best practice forum.
Purpose of role:
To ensure that all Engineering aspects elated to the ERM implementation are provided and contribute to a successful project
To effect a successful change to the common processes and systems within Engineering to ensure full business benefit from the ERM upgrade
To train people in Engineering where appropriate to operate the new processes and system effectively.
Key Accountabilities:
Work closely with project stakeholders to prioritise business goals and information needs.
Assist in the development of project plans and provide project management support.
Responsible for the timely, within budget, to specification delivery of all activities (both Solution Design and Business Change) assigned to him/her and for meeting his/her Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
The successful implementation of the required capability to support the Engineering elements of ERM
Developing and training people in Engineering regarding the interface and relevant functionality of PDM to ERM.
Helping identify, manage and mitigate risks to delivery.
Responsible for reporting on his/her progress to the ERM project manager
Operating the project communications plan for Engineering
Ensuring he/she has the appropriate experience, knowledge and training/education to deliver against their assigned deliverables
Key Skills (personal & technical):
Detailed experience with PDM (eg Windchill) and ERP (eg Mars/ERM) system interactions within a highly complex engineering environment.
Experience of capturing engineering information requirements for use within an ERP environment
Excellent team player.
Effective stakeholder expectation management skills
Effective written and verbal communications
Effective report and metrics writing
Effective training skills.
Attention to detail
Education & Experience:
Must have experience in a large scale engineering construction project with a detailed knowledge of using PDM and ERP systems
