Ericsson Solution Architect (SDP)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand technical requirements of a contracted SDP solution and engage customer to have overall agreement on the proposed solution.
- Owns the technical solution during the project phase.
- Do a feasibility study of the solution with customer meetings and matching customer requirements with contracted solution.
- Leading or supporting role in customer meetings and workshops to agree on the Requirement Specification, Solution Design, Detailed Design and Implementation Proposal, interfacing with internal product units and 3PP providers as well as producing the Project Design documentation.
- During the Solution Development, the Solution Architect is supposed to have a leading role in the Customer Adaptation and Product Customization definition process, in the interface and functionality agreements with 3PP and the setting up of local coding capabilities to enable a developed solution according to Customers Specification ready for Integration and Testing.  
- Support the Project Managers by drilling down the solution into activities and providing effort estimates to make project budget.
- Responsible for assigning activities & review delivery progress with the Solution Integrators.
- Interface and communicate with customer about project technical deliverables till acceptance and handover to ELS.
- Act as Solution Life Cycle Manager of implemented solution.
- Proactive competence development of self in new solution areas in the domain & certifications.
- Ready to learn, transfer competence from other competent resources and take forward the solution in project phase.
- Ensure strict delivery as per contracted scope with proper change management.

REQUIRED EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE:

- 7 - 10 years of experience with Architecting skills for Service Delivery Platform development, integration and life cycle management.
- Experience in defining solutions for large scale, multi-tier, and Real Time systems.
- Software skills include Java, J2EE, Design Patterns, App Servers (WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat), Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, MySQL, Oracle, Unix & Shell Scripting, RTSP, RTP, 3rd party streaming server eg Apple & Real Networks & Solaris knowledge.
- Experience in SDP delivery projects involving ParlayX standards, Service Creation environment, Native telecom protocols, and Charging/Billing Systems.
- Familiarity with LDAP, Corba, SOAP, CAMEL, SIP, CAI3G, and BPEL.
- Familiar with SOA Architecture.
- Experience of working with ESB, BEA/Oracle, IBM Web Sphere is a plus.
- Experience in defining solutions based on Ericsson as well as 3'rd party products.
- Experience & Knowledge in Portal based solutions.
- Experience & Knowledge in Content Management systems. (Optional but desirable)
- Should be able to lead initiatives and should possess a good knowledge of integration with provisioning & billing, SMSC, Streaming Server, WAP, MMSC, Parlay Gateway, Prepaid, AAA, Location server, OSS, MSC and other value added enablers like DRM, Transcoding. Single Sign-on.
- Experience in writing use case documents using UML, Rational Rose etc.
- Experience or knowledge about hardware dimensioning, network architectures and IP planning.
- GSM knowledge and understand the e-TOM model for operators to work with their business logic.
