Equities Trade Support Analyst - FIX, SQL, Unix

Barclays is focusing on growing its Equity related businesses significantly. The Cash Equities RTB team manage the production environment for Barclays? bespoke Equity trading applications globally, covering single-stock, program, algorithmic, futures, low latency DMA trading and internalisation. The candidate will join a team dedicated to providing L2 support for the High Touch Trading platform to all Cash Equities businesses.

As a member of the Equities Application Management team the candidate will be required to support the day-to-day operation of the Cash Equities platforms for EMEA. Due to the nature of this highly demanding business area it is necessary to be a self-motivated learner with the ability to prioritize appropriately and present innovative solutions to complex issues. This will necessitate a close relationship with multiple groups including development, infrastructure and client-facing teams and as such an assured and confident candidate is required with excellent written and verbal communication skills, both at a technical and business level.

The Cash Equities team supports all aspects of the Cash Equities trading including Front End Sales & Trading GUIs, Order Management, Connectivity to downstream components and Intra-day Risk Management. As part of the team, this role will encompass both the management of the Server Side applications, including deployment and supportability projects, as well as liaising with all Cash Equities business groups on GUI and order related issues.

Although only Front Office Order management & Risk systems are supported, the candidate should have a good understanding of Execution systems (Algos/SORs), Market Data, Exchange/Client Connectivity & Middle Office allocation/booking.

Responsibilities include building and supporting the technology environment, ensuring the smooth running of production systems and providing an exceptional level of service to Barclays? internal and external clients. There will be significant exposure to senior Front Office trading and sales people.

MAIN DUTIES

As a member of the High Touch Trading Run-the-Bank (RTB) team in London, the candidate will join the Support team and will have the following responsibilities:

- Provide support for mission critical Equities Cash Trading Technology in London
- Work alongside the business, troubleshooting order management (routing/execution/trade reporting etc), position keeping, PnL & Booking issues
- Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
- Liaise with development teams on day to day issues, change requests, functional improvements and future applications
- Ownership of production incidents and issues including communications, escalation, risk mitigation and problem management
- Participate in the problem management life cycle, tracking and driving issues through problem resolution to controlled change
- Promotion of application changes from development into production environments whilst minimising risk and potential impact
- Pro-actively improve the quality of systems and services, and increase business value
- Undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas: - capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting and documentation
- Uphold and champion policies, procedures and standards
- Participate in release cycle including actively managing releases, post implementation testing and supporting systems post change.

PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Experience Required

- Application support for Cash Equities trading systems.
- Knowledge of Salesability to troubleshoot latency issues.
- Experience with Java applications.
