EQUITIES MIDDLE OFFICE PROJECTS ANALYST

For this top tier investment bank we are looking for an Equities Middle Office Projects Analyst.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

- The Equity Derivatives Middle Office aims to provide a one stop shop for the trading and Sales desks as a gateway to the rest of the Operations function. The team is broadly split into:
- Desk aligned trading assistants who own the Operational risks in the trading books they support
- Client aligned Sales Assistants who manage the Operational relationships with key client classes
- Control team who police key metrics by way of producing and enhancing inter system reconciliations supporting all of the trading desks

MAIN FUNCTION

- To work within the Equities Middle Office projects team to participate in the UAT testing and regression for a major front to back project involving the decommissioning of a key risk system and the build out of an in house system

MAIN DUTIES

- UAT testing of new system build out to enable the decommissioning of the Equity Derivative risk system to be replaced by an in house system
- Regression testing of upstream and downstream system links into the risk system ensuring accurate and efficient trade capture as well as life cycling activities
- Participation in testing calls with Change & Technology teams to raise any defects, raise and resolve any bugs and escalate any concerns around releases appropriately to Ops management

PERSON REQUIREMENTS

- Good understanding of Equity Derivative products and trade life cycle
- Good understanding of Equity Derivative process flows and systems
- Experience of Sophis Risque would be beneficial
- Eye for detail and picking up issues
- Thinking outside the box, and looking for problems outside the prescribed scripts
- Good team player and ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders including IT/Ops Change etc
- Good time management skills with ability to multi-task & prioritise workload
