Equipment Safety Advisor

Background
Our Central Government client is looking to take on an Equipment Safety Advisor to work a 6 month contract based in Bristol.

Key Responsibilities
The Equipment Safety Advisor is responsible for policy and process delivery, and for direction, advice and guidance on safety and environmental issues to the project team, equipment project management and in-service support staff.

The technical scope of the departments equipment responsibility ranges across fuel handling systems, power generation and distribution, water purification, tri-service test and calibration equipments, powered tools (hand tools, welding, and garaging equipment), hand tools, ISO containerised systems and infrastructure support equipment (tented accommodation etc).

KEY DELIVERABLES

- Upkeep and adherence to the Safety and Environmental Management System,
- Development of contractual Safety Requirements and monitoring the delivery throughout the equipment life cycle
- Technical Support to the delivery sections for production and endorsement of Safety & Environmental Cases
- Development and Maintenance of Hazard ID/Analysis and Hazard Logs including chairing Safety Panels
- Maintaining an S&E legislation register for all delivery areas
- Maintaining a register of Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel to support Safety Panels,
- Provide corporate returns as required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Ideally, the candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Defence/Military Equipment Safety Advisor.
- A background in military/defence equipment delivery and support would be advantageous.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO UNDERGO A BASIC SECURITY CHECK, WHICH IS AT A COST OF £25.
