Duties required:
- Contribute towards delivering the Programme for Government 'Partnership for Change' commitment to deliver 50:50 gender balance on boards by 2020.
- Contribute to the work of the Race, Religion & Refugee Integration Team in developing a refreshed approach to race equality.
- Draft replies to MACCS.
- Draft briefings for ministerial events and meetings.
- Liaise with private offices, across Government departments and with external stakeholders.
- Respond to general enquiries from stakeholders and others.
- Organise meetings.
- Contribute to maintaining corporate systems, website pages, core briefing in relation to race and gender.
Experience required:
- Experience of working in a high profile and fast paced policy environment with a strong outward focus
- Excellent planning organisational skills, including a working knowledge of project management principles and the ability to prioritise and manage challenging workloads and competing deadlines
- The ability to work autonomously, knowing when to seek advice and agreement from a senior colleagues
- Strong interpersonal, communication and engagement skills, and an ability to work with a wide range of partners/stakeholders and build effective working relationships
- Experience of providing direct support to Ministers including submissions, speeches, briefings, PQs, parliamentary debates and official support at meetings and events.
It would be highly desirable if you had an understanding and/or interest in equality issues, particularly gender and race.
Candidates will be required to either already hold a valid Disclosure Scotland certificate or be willing and able to apply for one prior to CV submittal to the client.
