Environmental Specialist

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST to join our client in Schenectady, NY.

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Environmental Specialist will work with the site environmental lead to ensure compliance to site permits, programs and ensure all EHS requirements are achieved. This individual will be responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and improve EHS programs
- Maintain EHS records, implement and update site procedures and utilize software systems
- Execute site internal and external EHS requirements
- Collect data as required to ensure air emissions and permitting requirements are addressed as well as water DMR reporting.
- Possess external and internal customer focus and a strong commitment to the operationalization of EHS activity

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or Environmental related field or discipline
- Knowledge of USEPA and NYSDEC environmental regulations, in particular air, water, chemical management and spills.
- EHS experience, preferably with manufacturing/shop floor.
- Strong data analysis skills.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- Prior experience in wastewater and air permitting compliance preferred.
