Environmental Engineer

Environmental Engineer with permitting and process design experience is needed in northern VA for a waste company. Must be a degreed Engineer with environmental and hazardous waste permitting experience, as well as water and air permitting. This is a 3-6 month contract position with possible temp-to-perm opportunity based on performance. Competitive hourly rate offered and benefits. Local candidates preferred. Now interviewing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- You will be responsible for assisting in process design and preparing environmental permit applications with regard to waste conversion.
- Preparation of environmental permit applications and documentation and monitoring/documenting compliance with issued permits. Interface with team and regulators.
- Work with federal, state and local environmental regulatory agencies for waste permits and compliance.
- Process design, P&ID development, process modeling (Aspen Plus), equipment design & specification, system operations, operator training, development and writing of SOP.

REQUIREMENTS

- You must have a BS in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must have 5 - 10 years of related environmental and permitting experience, with experience with environmental permit applications, monitoring/documenting compliance and working with environmental regulatory agencies (Federal, State, and/or local).
- Experience with RCRA hazardous waste (TSDF, Subpart X), solid waste, regulated medical waste Air permits: Title V, air dispersion modeling Water permits: Industrial wastewater, categorical standards, stormwater
