Large company located in the Central Ohio area has an immediate need for an ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE ENGINEER with experience and knowledge to provide in-field environmental compliance support for a wide range of transmission line construction projects. Requires a BS Degree in Engineering or Environmental and a minimum of three (3) or more years experience with compliance experience in NPDES storm water permit program/Erosion and Sediment Control practices. Must be able to travel as needed in support of construction projects. Prefer local candidates within the Central Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia,or Virginia areas. This is a heavy travel position with a minimum of 70% driving travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Will provide a wide range of environmental support to Transmission Engineering, Project Managers (PMs), Construction Representatives (TCRs) and the Region Environmental Coordinators (RECs)
- Will provide erosion and sediment control field support and verification of permanent soil stabilization for completed projects
- Will conduct environmental site assessments and review excavation plans and provide environmental guidance
- Will arrange for electrical equipment pickups and disposal and for waste disposal and sign waste shipping documents
- Will conduct environmental sampling; coordinate remediation activities, submit demolition notifications; and coordinate building demolitions, including asbestos abatement activities when necessary
- Will conduct SPCC surveys and update SPCC Plans

REQUIREMENTS

- Requires a BS Engineering or BS Environmental Engineering
- Requires experience with NPDES storm water permit program/Erosion and Sediment Control practices
- Must have experience with environmental sampling procedures and environmental site assessments
- Experience with transmission equipment, operations and construction practices is desired
- Experience with environmental sampling procedures and environmental site assessments
- Experience with building demolition and asbestos abatement practices
- Experience with Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) program
- This is an extensive travel position. Must be willing to travel a minimum or 70 - 80% of work hours. Travel will be driving in support of construction projects.
