Environmental Education Officer

Job Title: Environmental Education Officer (Fixed Term 2 years)

Location: Clay Lane Depot, High Wycombe

Salary: £ 20,000 p.a.

Hours: 40 hours - Monday - Friday

Your role is to plan and carry out a campaigns and education programme in Chiltern and Wycombe in association with Serco to work directly with residents, schools, young people, volunteers, educational practitioners, TRA`s, the local authority, voluntary sector and businesses.

Your duties will also include:

- Working with the Contract Manager and Campaigns Manager to increase recycling participation through targeted campaigns in Chiltern and Wycombe.
- Work to identify low areas of recycling and high areas of contamination to develop strategy to improve
- Undertake a comprehensive survey of high rise buildings, schedule 2 and school premises to evaluate and implement the appropriate recycling solution.
- Develop a range of school programmes in conjunction with Keep Britain Tidy aimed at litter prevention and other environmental crimes
- To support the contract and client with the roll out of the new recycling scheme to residents

Essential skills / qualifications / experience for the role

- Good experience of working within a diverse community
- A good track record of supporting projects and volunteers
- Experience of working with school and/or with young people
- Good working knowledge of environmental issues, litter, recycling, carbon reduction and sustainability
- Flexible with good time management skills
- Ability to follow directions and use own initiative
- Ability to create and maintain a database to input monitoring information
- Able to work on own and as part of a team
- Full clean driving licence
- Experience of a GIS system
- Educated to Degree Level
