We are looking for top-notch Software Developers who love working on a team and proactively taking the lead whenever necessary. Successful candidates will be responsible for creating and delivering software solutions for managing efficient and effective management of large datasets. The system that you will help build will support the business and legal requirements to achieve compliance in safety, testing, and storage/transportation of goods. In this role, you will have an opportunity to assist in the design and development of key software initiatives. You will influence the subsystem design and help build a team culture around practices that are critical to a quality product.

Your work would be cross-functional, involving those from operations, transportation, IT, and legal teams. We are looking for someone with an ambitious attitude who is ready to own a problem and passionately drive successful implementation. We want someone who is a quick learner and ready to learn and adopt latest computer science technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree (or related technical discipline)
- 3 years of strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C++ and/or Java)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Graduate degree a plus
- Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
- Experience with Perl or other Scripting languages a plus
- Experience in optimization mathematics (linear programming, nonlinear optimization)
- Preferred experience on a UNIX or Linux platform
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems, ie ability to think abstractly
