Entry Level Scientist - Manchester - 12 Months Initial Contract - up to £10-£15 an hour Limited/Umbrella

A new exciting opportunity has arisen to work with a Leading Blue Chip Organisation on an initial 1 year contract. This position will be for an initial 12 months contract with a review for extension beyond this at the pay rate between £10.00- £15.00 per hour (LTD/Umbrella).

For this position we are seeking candidates from Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Hygiene or other related Degree for a position and ideally you will have had some prior experience within a Laboratory, such as in a work placement from University. Job Description (Please note that a great amount of training will be provided if you do not have all the essentials):-

- Deliver top quality and fit-for-purpose specialist Health Risk Assessment (HRA) projects, which add responsible business value
- Support Global Industrial Hygiene community with use of Shell's health data management system oneHealthIT
- Provide specialist exposure science input in global (virtual) teams
- Assist the Risk Science Team within Shell Health to provide specialist health risk and exposure impact assessments, with a focus on Upstream operations
- Formulate and maintain exposure scenarios (ES) for compliance with REACH and other international product regulations
- Support the REACH Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring and review process for confirmation and documentation of Use details and verification of Risk Management Measures
- Support delivery of high quality and fit-for-purpose Health Risk Assessment and Exposure Data Management processes
- Provide global support on Occupational Exposure Limits and other reference values for risk assessment: development, implementation and compliance

The requirements of the job are:

- Exposure Science or Industrial Hygiene Training at University level (MSc or equivalent)
- Professionally qualified or eligible for professional qualification
- Broad Exposure Science and/or Industrial Hygiene knowledge and interest
- Industrial Hygiene or Product Regulatory experience in chemical, oil and gas industry is a plus
