Enterprise IT Architect/Enterprise Solutions Architect

Are you an proven IT architect working at an Enterprise level, with a broad understanding across all architecture disciplines? Do you have proven experience in influencing internal IT, business and supplier stakeholders plus able to defend your views in a robust but empathetic way to challenging stakeholders.

My client has a large mix of systems, infrastructure and technologies with developments within various locations of age and heritage status, have a supporting IT network which is complex, constrained and difficult to upgrade. In order to successfully achieve the programmes desired outcomes, my client is to establish an internal IT architecture capability. This small team will be responsible for defining the target IT architecture for the Systems Simplification Programme, and its transitional states.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

- Must have operated as an Enterprise IT Architect within a cross functional team or as an Enterprise Solutions Architect on a large-scale change programme.
- Must be able to demonstrate a true architectural approach to their work, with a broad understanding of all IT architecture domains.
- Preferably the candidate should have deep systems experience across multiple domains and comprehensive understanding of the information and integration needs.
- Preferably the candidate should have experience with Digital(advanced web content management & marketing) and EPOS technology or the implementation of tier 2 Back Office finance system.
- Implementation of/participation in architecture governance processes
- The candidate must demonstrate their ability to deliver an implementable IT architecture, not an architecture strategy.
- Must be able to dive into detailed technical conversations with internal SMEs and suppliers in order to understand the implications of the changes they are recommending.
- Must be capable of defining, documenting and agreeing physical architectures with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including non-functional needs.

OBJECTIVES:

- As part of the IT architecture (ITA) team, engage and mobilise the wider IT department to define and agree a comprehensive target IT architecture supporting SSP (this includes the strategic applications, information and technology views).
- Define and agree the transitional states for the architecture.
- Identify, define and agree the key NFR/NFQs with the IT Programme Directors.
- Provide support the IT Programme Directors during the RFI/RFP/ITT process and any subsequent POCs.
- Support the wider IT organisation as it embraces more mature IT architecture & technology processes.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Must be an IT architect working at an Enterprise level, with a broad understanding across all architecture disciplines.
- Should have implemented a TOGAF based EA model and supporting processes.
- Demonstrable experience in product selection and vendor engagement through to implementation
- Must have worked in a cross functional Enterprise IT team charged with defining and delivering change to an organisation of approximately (70k employees, >5m customers, 300 physical locations)
- Must be commercially aware and have operated within a heavily supplier based IT organisation.
