Enterprise Application Infrastructure Engineer

The Enterprise Application Infrastructure Engineer will help plan, design, implement and sustain the document management infrastructure for use by multiple business and application areas. This position will also play a role in working with the client's Security and Compliance teams to ensure the DRM platforms comply with HIPAA, SOX and PCI requirements. The document management infrastructure captures millions of documents annually, and comprises a highly complex, high volume architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing sustaining production support operations for the document management infrastructure, ensuring that excellent service is delivered to our business units in an effective and efficient manner. This position will also be responsible for supporting and managing the other application platforms that DRM is responsible for including Vignette Image Capture, Kofax Capture, OpenText IDM repository and RightFax application and Servers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Hands-on technical engineer performing test and production implementation as well as participating on production application support and incident resolution.
Work with fellow IT team members to design and implement continuous process improvements for preventing production application incidents.
Plan and manage assigned projects or tasks, including progress reporting and issue/risk management.
Coordinate the work assigned to other IT production support resources, as and when needed.
Plan and coordinate scheduled software and hardware patches, upgrades, or enhancements to DRM supported platforms.
Engage end-users to triage issues and gather the necessary data to hand-off to vendor technical resources for further analysis.
Participate with other technical team members to plan, design, install, configure, monitor, support, and enhance the document management infrastructure.
Prepare, review, and maintain application support documentation.
Maintain adherence to KP IT Incident, Problem, and Change Management standards and guidelines.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3 years of work experience in a technical or production support role in a medium to large-sized organization.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently without close supervision.
Ability to effectively plan, multi-task and handle multiple projects or assignments concurrently.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with experience triaging and resolving technical issues/problems.
Strong customer service orientation and motivated self-starter.
Strong technical aptitude with proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and skills
Ability to work off hours or on weekends as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with database queries and database application support
Hand-on experience working as a Windows application engineer
Good understanding of TCP/IP
Experience with installing and configuring Windows server-based software.
Unix and Linux system administration experience with Scripting and database skills.
Additional pluses: software development using Java, .NET or VBscript, experience with OpenText/Vignette document management platform; experience as a Technical Project Manager; Healthcare industry experience; experience with document publishing, document archival, or document distribution and fulfillment.

TRAVEL:

Some travel may be required.

TOP 3 - 5 DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Define, test and implement Application monitors on DRM, Document Repository Management, platforms using Kofax monitor and Nagios utilities. Respond to alerts and refine monitors as needed. Take on the role of Subject Matter Expert on the monitoring utilities.
Define Security and Compliance process and procedures for the DRM platforms. Implement encryption and audit tools on DRM platforms, review logs and take actions as necessary. Become the DRM team Subject Matter Expert for Security and Compliance with regards to the applications and platforms managed by the DRM team.
Assist with the installation, configuration and deployment of the Kofax applications and support of the test and production/DR environments.
Assist with the installation, configuration and deployment of the OpenText Vignette applications and support of the test and production/DR environments.

TOP 3 - 5 REQUIRED SKILLS:

SQL queries for application support.
Unix administration including Shell Scripting, performance monitoring, NFS, security.
Windows server administration including performance monitoring, file shares, security, Event Log integration

DESIRED SKILLS:

Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
Network protocols and ports from a security stance such as in Firewall configuration
Experience with Security and Compliance with HIPAA, SOX and/or PCI
