JOB TITLE: English Teacher

JOB SUMMARY:
Mana Education is seeking to appoint an English Teacher from January 2014 for one of our schools in Northamptonshire.

You must have Qualified Teacher Status and a proven track record of recent and successful English Teaching experience to students set at age 11 - 16 (or of successful training for NQTs).

English is a wide, varied and challenging Key Stage 3 English programme, which is fully linked to the national curriculum. All staff use a rigorous assessment criteria to ensure progress of each student is measured.

At Key Stage 4 the school currently offers the Ed-excel exam board. They offer GCSE English Language, English Literature, English and Digital communication and Media Studies as a GCSE option. A broad amount of students successfully complete GCE A-Level or AS Courses.

The department provides space to teach students and enables students to study English in a practical way.

The school is an 11-18 co-educational Academy. The campus also offers a Children's Centre and a Day Nursery. Students in the sixth form are able to access a wide range of courses within the East Northamptonshire College.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING RELEVANT TO THE JOB

*Good understanding of current theory and best practice in teaching and learning.
*Thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum.
*Good English subject knowledge.
