Engineering Lab Support Technician

ENGINEERING LAB SUPPORT TECHNICIAN HILLSBORO, OR 18 MONTH CONTRACT

DUTIES INCLUDE:

- Transporting material between inventory areas and labs
- Loading/unloading boards and systems to stress components and packages in order to provide system stress information for Product Qualification activity
- Measurement, collection and recording of operating and inventory data
- Troubleshooting and debugging system problems and on-going maintenance of the systems
- Daily equipment maintenance
- Monitoring operations
- Overall area support
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work and more detailed instructions on new work
- Also, candidate will build engineering systems, Flash BIOS, clone HDDs, sustain operations (inserting and removing CPUs), perform soldering, and maintain general cleanliness and wire management within the working environment

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Must be able to work in/over/under and around various equipment sets while performing maintenance duties able to lift at least 35 lbs.
- Must have experience in computer system building and debug
- Must also be capable of using a Windows-based Workstation and should be comfortable with basic Office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to operate multiple test equipment including multi meters and assorted hand tools
- Strict adherence to all ergonomic and safety rules and regulations required
- Must be capable of working independently and operating at a high activity level in both operational and technical areas
- Must be a self-motivated individual with a strong positive attitude and possess a desire to contribute and share as a team player
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail for measurement and recording of operating and inventory data with high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience required

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Previous platform stress and/or computer systems lab experience working with any of the following is also strongly desired: PC systems debug in an engineering environment, MS Windows 7 installation and troubleshooting experience, PC system troubleshooting, ITP experience (stalling and Scripting), SMT solder experience, and ability to read schematics.
